| Chicago, IL status: active band's website Matt - Vocals, Guitar John - Guitar Deech - Bass Dan - Drums SHOOTING BLANKS is the future of kick-ass, high-energy, drunkPunk, rock-n-fucking-roll. After growing tired of watching all of the pathetic excuses for rock stars that bore their crowds into a near comatose state, Brey and Hoffman decided to razzle the rock community by forming SHOOTING BLANKS in the summer of 2001. After recording their debut EP "Nuclear Family" later that year, SHOOTING BLANKS added Deech and Dan to the mix to round out this all-star lineup of musical deviants. SHOOTING BLANKS has been writing catchy stuck-in-your-head anthems and playing shows non-stop ever since. With a live show that is unsurpassed, their fan base is growing monumentally day-by-day. Fueled by their passion for rock and their love for cheap alcohol, SHOOTING BLANKS remains one of the hardest-working bands in Chicagoland. With no outside help, SHOOTING BLANKS has independently shot three music videos, released a studio-recorded EP & a computer-enhanced full-length CD, gained regular airplay on & been featured guests on the legendary Chicago rock television show "JBTV", has four SHOOTING BLANKS online video games, has independently toured the country, has been featured on Chicago's major radio outlets as well as tons of college radio stations nationwide, has opened for national acts, and has played shows in most of the major clubs throughout Chicagoland and the surrounding suburbs. Look for SHOOTING BLANKS to be taking over a world near you. |

Nuclear Family This E.P. was recorded when this outfit was still just a threesome (John Brey on bass). Contains some of the band's most requested live songs: Payback & Mindfuck. The band loves it when you stand right while they are playing and yell "MINDFUCK! PLAY MINDFUCK!".... |
