For This I Have Fallen got its start in an old dilapidated garage with a dirt floor in McHenry, IL in 1995. The band's dedication and attitude to find their own musical style and continuously push the envelope for themselves and their fans has always been a focal point through the years. While maintaining a relentless schedule of live dates, For This I Have Fallen has gained a reputation throughout the Chicago and Milwaukee areas for delivering an intense live show that never falls in the shadow of other acts.

The quartet began work on their first full length album, "Uberrima Fides: The Winter Diaries" in the summer of 2002, one year before its scheduled September 2003 release. Entirely self recorded, mixed, produced, and mastered, For This I Have Fallen took on this ambitious recording project entirely on their own. "Uberrima Fides: The Winter Diaries" captures For This I Have Fallen in a way that does justice to their intense live performances and what this band is truly capable of. With the release of the new cd, For This I Have Fallen has truly pushed themselves to another level while continuing to push themselves musically in all forms.

The latin phrase "uberrima fides" translated to English means "with utmost faith and truth." According to bass player gregg, "we feel that to stay true to what we are as a band and as individuals for our fans and ourselves is the most important thing that we can do for anyone listening to or involved in our music. Over the years we have continued to do this and create what we believe to be music which is stimulating musically, lyrically, and in all other forms. This is what has kept us alive. We can only hope our audience appreciates and see that honesty as well."
